Acrylic > Acrylic On Canvas

After stretching unprimed canvas over plywood, 2 coats of gesso and then, 1 coat of white are applied with a 4” drywall knife is the first step. This makes for a sturdy, flat surface. At this point, I have 2 options, (1) to proceed and create a piece with slow drying acrylic paints, or (2) create an underpainting, then applying slow drying acrylic paint using a brayer, and then using the subtractive method, remove paint with plexiglass ’Gliders’, exposing areas underneath.
