Monotypes > Hand Colored

After I had been making monotypes for a while, I decided to hand color the ‘exposed’ white areas of a black and white monotype, using watercolor paints. The white areas are the etching paper, were the ‘subtracted’ black etching ink was removed from the plexiglass plate prior to printing. I soon realized that it was a time consuming process, but the finished pieces were quite original. I have also used Indian Ink markers.
